The Early January 2016 release was the first release of the new year. A new donation creature was released, the Nyskra. The normal creature released was the Snowstepper.

Two new creature discoveries have been made in the world of Ostlea!
The first can be found in the Sunanie Glacier where it will be mass dropping until 11:59 PM the site's time on Sunday the 10th. These creatures currently cannot be fed.
The second creature is currently being sold in Alameda’s Menagerie for 1 crystal. This creature can be fed.
Both of these creatures are permanent releases.
